ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNICATION
From ALCARDET WINERIES and in light of our commitment to the environment, and to comply with the ISO 14001:2015 standard and environmental improvement, and in order to control suppliers and subcontractors, so that they adapt their possible environmental actions to our pollution prevention policy, we have developed an OPERATIONAL WASTE CONTROL, therefore we inform you of its existence and that it is at your disposal, if you so request.
In order for you to be aware of your environmental requirements for our company, we enclose a summary of the OPERATIONAL WASTE CONTROL issues that directly affect you. We hope that you will demonstrate, as we assume, your commitment to the environment exists.
Environmental Requirements for Suppliers/Subcontractors
Loading/Unloading of Chemical Substances
- Avoid spills during loading/unloading operations
- Correctly identify chemical product containers
- Have the safety data sheets for the chemical products used
- In the event of a spill, collect it with absorbents (sand or sepiolite) and manage it correctly.
Dangerous residues
- Ensure the correct separation and management of hazardous waste according to current legislation
- Never deposit them in containers for urban waste or other hazardous waste.
Inert waste/CDW
- Inert waste or construction and demolition waste must be managed in accordance with current legislation.
- Do not mix them with others, such as urban or hazardous waste.
Waste
- Legalize the discharge before the competent authority
- Do not pour prohibited hazardous substances into the sewage system
- If any accidental spillage occurs during work that may contaminate the environment, report it as soon as possible to the competent public body.
Noise
- The machinery used must be in perfect maintenance conditions to avoid unnecessary noise.
- Vehicles must have a valid ITV
- The machinery must have a CE marking or a certificate of suitability for the machinery if it was manufactured before 1995.
- Where applicable, the machinery must have the corresponding declaration of conformity with respect to noise and the logo of the guaranteed level of acoustic protection.
Emissions to the Atmosphere
- Vehicles will have their ITV in force
- The equipment will have its proper maintenance, and if necessary, they must have passed inspections by the corresponding Control Bodies.
Optimization of consumption and minimization of waste generation
Companies are advised to follow good environmental practices in order to minimise the impacts produced by their activity:
- Water consumption: close taps when not in use, proper maintenance to avoid leaks, avoid unnecessary use of water, for example avoiding using the toilet as a waste bin.
- Electrical consumtion: use low-consumption equipment, make the most of natural light, do not overuse heating/cooling equipment, configure computer equipment to an energy-saving system, turn off lights and equipment after finishing use.
- Fuel consumption: follow the instructions in the efficient driving manuals
- Minimize waste generations: prioritize the purchase of products packaged in containers of the largest possible capacity, avoid superfluous packaging, optimize product consumption.
Ensure the separation of urban waste:
- Contenedor yellow: packaging
- Contenedor azul: paper and cardboard
- Contenedor Verde: glass
- Contenedor Grey : organic
Subcontractors must have at the disposal of the Person Responsible for the Environmental Management System of ALCARDET WINERIES., documentation relating to the vehicles (ITV's, CE certificates, maintenance records, quality or environmental certificates, etc.)
Companies subcontracted by ALCARDET WINERIES., must enter through the designated areas and comply with the legal provisions applicable to their products, services and activities.
In the event of a spill, spill of hazardous products, fire, or any other environmental incident, this must be immediately reported to the Person Responsible for the Environmental Management System.

The applicable environmental legislation, as well as the main environmental aspects that may occur and the actions to be taken in response to each of them, can be consulted with the Person in Charge of the Environmental Management System.
